Fall Conference DEADLINES

 

  • Conference Registration Form – Wednesday, September 27 (NO EXCEPTIONS)

    • Deadline is necessary for the t-shirt company

    • Fill out form the Google registration form and submit   

  • National Anthem Video Recording – Wednesday, September 27

  • Conference Registration Check payment – Postmark by Friday, October 13

    • Payable to District IV FBLA

Intro

FBLA members and advisers, please make plans to attend the 2023 District IV FBLA Fall Conference at UAHT, Hope, in Hempstead Hall on Wednesday, October 25, 2023. Registration packets and T-shirts may be picked up in the lobby of Arkansas Hall beginning at 8:15 a.m.  The general session of the conference will start promptly at 9:30 a.m. and the conference is expected to conclude around by 12:00 p.m.

Registration and T-shirts

The registration closes on Wednesday, September 27. Click here for the registration form. There will be NO additions or changes to registrations after the deadline. Registration is $20 per person, which includes a t-shirt. Students who do not wish to attend the conference, but wish to purchase a t-shirt, must be registered. We will be doing a local officer installation on the stage. Every officer will receive a certificate, but officer names must be submitted on the registration form. You may purchase officer medallions for the officer installation ceremony, which will be keepsakes for your local officers. T-shirt and medallion information is on the registration form.

 

You will have the opportunity to pick up your shirts the week before the conference. T-shirt pickup points will be emailed out prior to that week. If you do not get your shirts at the designated pickup locations, your shirts will be ready for pickup in the lobby of Arkansas Hall at HSU beginning at 8:15 a.m. 

 

Registration checks must be mailed by Friday, October 13.

Conference Dress Code

­Students, guests, and advisers may wear nice jeans with their new district t-shirts; however, the jeans may not have holes in them or be sagging. Tennis shoes and other casual shoes are acceptable to wear with jeans for this meeting.  Advisers, before allowing your members on the bus, please make sure that their jeans are appropriate.

New Member Induction

Each chapter will have an opportunity to participate in a New Member Induction Ceremony at the conference. We are very excited to do this. Not only will it help with your students’ Business Achievement Awards, it will be a great way to recognize your "new to FBLA" members. We hope that everyone will participate in this ceremony.

Local Officer Installation

Each chapter will have an opportunity to participate in a District-Wide Local Officer Installation Ceremony.  Officers (President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Reporter, and Parliamentarian) being installed will receive a certificate of recognition (no cost). Additionally, keepsake officer medallions are available for pre-order only for $6 each.  You will also be able to add other local offices for medallions and certificates. If you would like to participate in the local officer induction at the conference, please answer the officer questions on the registration form. You do not have to get medallions, but please fill out your officers’ names on the form to participate. If you already have a special officer installation ceremony at your school, this is in no way meant to replace that experience.  Rather, this is an opportunity for your chapter and officers to be recognized.  

 

Forms

Please print the Conduct Rules/Permission Slip, and Agreement Form.  Advisers, make a copy of the Conduct Rules/Permission Slip for every member that will be attending the conference. Once a member returns the permission slip, please have them sign the Agreement Form. The Agreement Form (with your principal or superintendent’s signature) must be turned in on the day of the conference when you pick up your registration packet. You will keep the permission slips.

Parade of Presidents

This year we will be having a Parade of Presidents section in our Fall Conference program. 

 

At the conference, each chapter president will come to the stage and give a report on their chapter. The president should cover:

  1. President’s Name and School

  2. How many members and advisers are in attendance at the conference for their chapter.

 

Door Prizes

Every chapter is asked to bring 2 door prizes valued approximately $10 to be given out during the conference. These door prizes will be turned in at conference registration in the lobby of Arkansas Hall. 

 

National Anthem

District IV is seeking auditions of FBLA members that can sing The Star-Spangled Banner in acapella and would be willing to share that talent at the opening of the session at the Fall Conference.  Please send your video to Carie Maroon via email to carie.maroon@rattlers.org to be received by September 27.  The winner will be notified after all entries have been judged.
